#003 — IDA AYA
Ida Aya is exploring pulsing and indulging tunes in the border between house and techno - often with touches of garage. Her main goal is to keep everyone grounded in their roots by encouraging you to move with the beat whether it’s in your own bubble or across the dancefloor. She is constantly seeking that indescribably bouncy spice that creates an instant feeling of unity.
My motivation for this mix has been based on balancing opposites. Here I’m challenging soft sounds to merge with hard hitting beats.
My intention has been to let go and therefore showcase that you don’t need to fit in a specific box to express yourself or your creativity.
I generally try to embrace imperfection, which I think is an important step in letting go of control. To aid this flow I let strong vocals guide me throughout the mix.
As a DJ I love to alternate between the feeling of being right here right now and it’s opposite; the feeling of being nowhere. I feel mesmerized by the way trancy and dreamy sounds can make us forget about the worries of life. On the other hand, I also crave the feeling of hearing a mean beat where you instantly feel connected with everyone in the room - because it forces you inside that present bouncy atmosphere.
Next up is Venera, the collaboration between Pleasure Control and Planetarium. I seriously can’t wait for this event. I bet the energy in the room is going to be bubbling with love, craziness and breezy vibes.
