#018 — DGERAL
They’ve been rocking dance floors from Caracas to Berlin to Copenhagen, delivering a groove that always leaves you wanting more. DGERAL is a key figure in Berlin-based collective SWEAT and co-founder of Bash is Back in Copenhagen, crafting spaces that are unapologetically seductive and consistently high-energy.
With equal parts passion, sweat, and soul, DGERAL’s sound is a seductive fusion of Latin percussion, house, and funky disco and also they love to play different genres for different crowds & places with very well curated sessions of different genres including down tempo chill & ambient music.
My intention was to consciously choose tracks from different artists I’ve been listening to and digging for over the last couple of months. Two words: Hybrid House! Uplifting, high-energy sounds blended with classic influences were my main goal. But then I realized that, in the process, I ended up exploring a lot of deep and acid rhythms that were unconsciously satisfying.
I’m very hybrid with my music selection, so I’m not sure if I can highlight one specific track or artist. I’m constantly digging and searching for music, so discovering a new track or artist is incredibly satisfying for me. That said, I’m very impressed by artists like CRYME, DJ Siniestro, Arbea, and many others. The list is long.
It took me more time than I originally planned. First, I recorded a freestyle practice mix, and then the second take ended up being the final one. So there was a lot of improvisation involved.
It all started when I was very young. My cousin was a DJ at a miniteca in Caracas, Venezuela, and my family is very musical. I was always playing records from my mom’s collection, and later my first job was in a record store. The rest has just been going with the flow. As a DJ, I’d say I’m very versatile. My music selection and taste always carry signs of my Latin background. For example, I love blending two different styles into one set that can get anybody shaking their booty. Lol.
“MINITECA” A miniteca (or miniteka) is a Spanish term, popular in Venezuela and Colombia, referring to a mobile discotheque or a group of people who provide recorded music, lights, and sound equipment to entertain parties and events.
I also made my debut at the Karrusel Festival, which was the ideal way to cap up August. In the pipeline: Putting a lot of effort into my co-project, BASH IS BACK, in Copenhagen with the upcoming Transgender Day of Remembrance 2026 event at DAS on November 20, which is also very exciting; confirmed for the MIX COPENHAGEN LGBTQIA+ FILM FESTIVAL closing party on November 7; and gagging about NYE for GEGEN/PRNCPTL At OST - Berlin. This is really satisfying after a very need it pause in September and October.
The goal is to continue to grow the community through both of my collectives while also developing my personal career, which is a key priority right now. Therefore I'm very thrilled about what's next, and I'm now ready to return. Therefore my schedule is open for new gigs, so please contact me!
Cool collabs: Group Therapy & CUMFORT has been giving me so much support. I love you!
I’m also in contact with several promoters and artists about potential collaborations in the near future. I can’t name anyone just yet, but I’m looking forward to some exciting partnerships in the months ahead and beyond.
