WE WILL DANCE AGAIN

A video interview series and social media campaign featuring key voices from Copenhagen’s electronic music scene: club owners, dancers, ravers, creatives, cuties, and more. They reflected on nightlife, rave culture, what they loved about it, and what they missed when the COVID-19 pandemic shut it down for much of 2020 and 2021.

As dancefloors vanished, so did the stimulation, music, hedonistic self-expression, escapism, and spontaneous encounters that defined the culture. The loss also disrupted essential spaces where people freely expressed their sexualities, identities, genders, and races. It marked a period we now look back on from the other side.

Historically, rave culture in nightlife has always been about community and a place for everyone to be themselves, a significant break from everyday life, which has shaped culture for decades.

'Safer space' policy prevents harassment and judgement in nightlife, especially helping minorities feel safe. It is an important foundation for any person to be able to freely express themselves and just enjoy nightlife.
